We have just been commissioned by Forestry England to undertake a strategic review of the potential for visitor accommodation development at Kielder Water and Forest Park in Northumberland. The study will cover the Forest Park and surrounding market area and will look at the potential for all forms of accommodation, both serviced and non-serviced. A key focus will be to investigate the potential redevelopment of Kielder Castle for accommodation use. The key output will be a strategy and action plan that sets out a phased approach to visitor accommodation development across the Park and identifies partners and funding sources. We have an inception workshop planned for the middle of August and will commence work on the project in September with the aim of completing the bulk of the work in October.
